Position Objectives:

The City of Motley is accepting applications to fill a newly created part-time 32 hour-4 days a week (Monday-Thursday), Deputy City Clerk/Office Manager position. Duties include but are not limited to:  performing semi-skilled and skilled receptionist, clerical (accounting/bookkeeping), and administrative support work for the Clerk-Treasurer.  This individual serves as the frontline customer service person for City Hall; providing secretarial, clerical, and administrative support to other city departments and the City Council.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties are as follows but not limited to:  Manage monthly utility billing (UB Max), receiving and processing payments/deposits, Accounts Payable, website and social media management, election judge duties, and light office cleaning and organization.  Maintaining city filing system for official city council minutes, resolutions, planning and zoning documents, and other city files.

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must have a High School Diploma/GED; some secondary or post-secondary coursework or other formal training (e.g. workshops, seminars, etc.) in areas of bookkeeping, accounting, and automated billing software; and some clerical experience in account billing including regular customer contact and use of word processing and spreadsheet software.

Desirable Training and Experience:

Benefits:

Hourly pay starts at $20.05-$22.65 based on qualifications

Benefits include PTO, Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST), PERA, and paid holidays (if the holiday falls on a regularly scheduled work day).

Firefighter

The Motley Fire Department is accepting applications for volunteer firefighters. Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age, have a valid Minnesota driver’s license, live within an acceptable response time area and be able to pass a physical examination. Firefighters receive $11.00 for each call/meeting/training attended. Fully vested members of the FD Relief Association receive $3,000/year of active service upon retirement.
